Since we were registered in 2017 staff and carers have and continue to raise funds for charity. As you may be aware our fostering agency is linked to THE LAYBERRY Foundation, a charity for care leavers. We have already been able to fund a worker, recruit and train mentors and build relationships with local councils. As we start to develop in other areas our fundraising needs to focus on this. We are also developing a group of care leavers to share their experiences and achievements with our current children and applicants to foster.
We have supported coffee mornings for MacMillan, staff have worked with raising awareness of Foetal Alcohol, homeless and The Mulberry Bush school. One of the staff is running the marathon to raise money for another children’s charity. A group of 30 staff and carers have recently completed the Bubble Rush to raise monies for Demelza Children’s Hospice.
Going forward we are looking for staff, carers, ideas to help raise monies and find volunteers to support the development of THE LAYBERRY Foundation.
